Endry Pragusta
1992 born in Indonesia
Endry Pragusta, born in 1992, is an Indonesian contemporary artist and a graduate of the Fine Arts Department at Yogyakarta State University. His work primarily takes the form of sculpture, utilizing tangible entities to explore the evolution of narratives, thereby critiquing the absurdities of contemporary society.
By combining human and animal torsos with inorganic objects produced by the industrial era—accentuated by a monochromatic black palette—he satirizes the surreal nature of domestic politics and social issues. His approach, grounded in small-scale narratives, weaves together an aesthetic form that reflects a contemporary perspective.
Since 2009, he has participated in over a hundred exhibitions and remains an active figure in Indonesia’s art scene. In 2024, he took part in the Yogyakarta Art Festival at the Jogja National Museum. Expanding into the international art market, he showcased his works in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Spain in 2019.
